Sand and oil deck

Anyone ever heard of putting sand in deck stain/sealant? I am staining/sealing a deck aroung a pool and thought this may be a good idea so the deck is not so slippery when wet. Is this a possibility, and should the sand be mixed in the sealant, or sprinkled on after sealant is applied?
